Thank you for your interest in the Hands to Hide Equine programs! As a thank-you for signing up, please enjoy this free demonstration video for helping your horse relieve soreness in the back.
*Scroll down to read the techniques found in this video*
1. Facing the horse’s side, use the palm your hand to warm up the back. Place your fingers on the point behind the withers and press in lightly. Slide fingers down the side (barrel) of the horse until you feel them sink in…this is the top of the rib shelf, where the ribs extend out from each of the corresponding thoracic vertebra.
2. Keep all fingers pressed into the horse and begin light vibrating compressions of the fingers for two to three seconds.

3. Move your hand further down towards the horse’s hips, repeating previous step every place your hand width is placed (the distance of your two hands placed directly beside each other).

4. Return to the withers where you started and with your two hands still together, place your fingers slightly below the spine.
5. With your fingertips lightly “drag” your fingers down away from the spine toward the ribcage. Do this all the way down the spine towards the hips. Once done, massage the area with the palm of your hand.
6. Go to the other side and perform the same steps.
